SUBJECT: Exchange of Easements with Central Contra Costa Sanitary District,
Former Southern Pacific Right of Way
(4425-4127)
SPECIFIC RBWEST(S) OR RF nATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUST'IF'ICATION
1. Reconmeryded Action:
APPROVE exchange of land rights between Contra Costa County and Central Contra
Costa Sanitary District.
A. AUTHORIZE the Chair of the Board to execute a Grant of Easement from the
County to the Central Contra Costa County Sanitary District across that
portion of the former Southern Pacific right of way known as Parcel 38.
B. ACCEPT the Quitclaim Deed from Central Contra Costa Sanitary District
dated August 6, 1987 relinquishing District's rights to the previous
easement across Parcel 38 granted to them by the County in 1985.
2. Financial Impact:
None, this is an even exchange of property rights to relocate the easement.

3. Reasons for Reoonanendations•
To locate Central Contra Costa Sanitary District's pipeline in the most
desirable location with respect to other proposed uses of the former Southern
Pacific Right of Way.
4. Baclxvxi:
On December 3, 1985 the Board approved a Purchase Agreement with the Sanitary
District providing for an easement along portions of the former Southern
Pacific Right of Way now owned by the County. This action relocates one
segment of that easement.
5. Consequences of Negative Action:
County would be in violation of said Purchase Agreement as it provides for
needed relocations or adjustments of the easement.
