Buck, County Probation `Officer Contra Costa DATE: July 15 , 1987 County SUBJECT: Increase Probation Officers ' Revolving Fund SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATION Approve an increase in the Probation Officers ' Revolving Fund of $150 to accommodate the Victim/Witness emergency fund. FINANCIAL IMPACT None. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: The Probation Department has historically maintained petty cash funds in its field offices. On January 1, 1987 the Victim/ Witness program was transferred from the District Attorney' s Office to the Probation Department. The Victim/Witness program has a provision to grant up to $50 to victims for emergency expenses. When these grants are made, the amount is reimbursed by the State. The current petty cash amounts in the field offices are insuffi- cient to accommodate these emergency grants. The $150 increase in the Probation Officers ' Revolving Fund will allow an increase of $50 in the petty cash funds, at the Richmond,, Concord and Antioch offices. This will accommodate emergency grants without depleting the entire petty cash fund.
