SUBJECT: Lease for Public Defender �t

SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action: AUTHORIZE the Director of General
Services to EXECUTE, on behalf of the County, a Lease,
commencing August 10, 1987, for the premises : at 3707 Bissell
Avenue, Richmond for occupancy by the Public Defender, under
the terms and conditions more particularly set forth in said
Lease.
DETERMINE that the above project is a Class 1 Categorical
Exemption under the California- Environmental Quality Act.
DIRECT the Community Development Department to. FILE a
Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk.
II. Financial Impact: Payments required are to come from the
Criminal Justice construction fund.
III. Reasons for Recommendations/Background: On April 28, 1987,
this Board exercised an option to extend a lease with
Desarrollo Familiar for premises at 3825 Bissell Avenue,
Richmond, for occupancy by the Public Defender. At the
request of Desarrollo Familiar, alternate space for that .
occupancy has been found. This lease will provide for
occupancy of that alternate space and allow for termination of
the lease with Desarrollo Familiar as they have requested.
