Spooner , Contracts Administrato Costa DATE: July 16, 1987 coi "J SUBJECT: Approval of Standard Agreement 429-321-3 with the State of California Emergency Medical Services Authority SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATICNV(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I . RECOMMENDED ACTION : Approve and authorize the Chair to execute on behalf of the County Standard Agreement 429-321-3 with the State Emergency Medical Services Authority in the amount of $124, 000 for the period June 25, 1987 - June 24, 1988 for second year funding of the Bay Area Trauma Registry Project . II . FINANCIAL IMPACT : Approval of this agreement will result in $124 , 000 of State funding for the Bay Area Trauma Registry. The six participating counties have each pledged an equal share of the inkind match requirement , $21 , 250 , which represents a portion of the salaries of existing EMS staffs . In addition, the hospitals which are the trauma centers in the participating counties will be contributing an inkind match total of $330, 000 which represents a portion of the salaries of their existing data collection staffs . The program budget is , then , as follows : $ 124 , 000 State Block Grant 127 , 500 Counties In-Kind Match 330 , 000 Trauma Center Data Collection $ 581 , 500 Total Program Budget The Project received $111 , 375 of funding from the State in the first year of funding . The County' s in-kind -share was $27 , 250 . III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND : On June- 16 , 1987 , the Board approved Grant Application #29-321-1 with the State Emergency Medical Services Authority for second year funding of . the Regional Trauma Registry administered by Contra Costa County Emergency Medical Services staff . On July 3 , 1987 the Department received a letter from the State confirming that the Department will receive a Block Grant in the amount of $124 , 000 to finalize the Bay. The Board Chair should sign nine (9 ) copies of the agreement , eight of which should be returned to the Contracts and Grants Unit for submission to the State Emergency Medical Services Authority.
