SUBJECT: Approving Plans and Specifications for Grayson Creek
Desilting , Project No . 7520-669313 , Pacheco Area .

Justification
I . RECOMMENDED ACTION: '
APPROVE the Plans and Specifications for the Grayson Creek
Desilting Project and ADVERTISE for bids to be received on
Thursday, August 20 , 1987 at 2 : 00 p .m .
DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to publish the Notice to
Contractors in accordance with Section 21025 of the Public
Contract Code , and
DIRECT the Director of Community Development to file a Notice of
Exemption with the County Clerk .
II . FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The estimated contract cost of the project is $130 ,500. It is to
be funded by Flood Control Zone 3B .
III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Chief Engineer has filed with the Board of Supervisors as the
Governing Body of the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water
Conservation District the Plans and Specifications for the
Grayson Creek Desilting Project .

The general prevailing rates of wages , which shall be the minimum
rates paid on this project , have been filed with the Clerk of
the Board and copies will be made available to any interested
party upon request .
The project has been determined to be in compliance with the
General Plan . It has been determined that this project is exempt
from CEQA requirements as a Class 4G Categorical Exemption .
Maintenance dredging of Grayson Creek Channel where spoil is to
be deposited in an authorized area is determined not to have a
significant effect on environment and which shall , therefore , be
exempt from the provisions of CEQA. The Board hereby concurs in
said determination .
