SUBJECT: Camino Tassajara/Sycamore Valley Road Traffic Problems
On September 16 , 1986 the Board requested the California
Highway Patrol to enforce load limit restrictions on Camino Tassajara
in the Danville area in an effort to control construction traffic
problems in that area. The Board also requested staff to notify the
City of Danville of this action.
Michael M. Davis, City Manager, City of Danville, appeared
before the Board this date and requested that the Board reconsider
their action of September 16 . He noted that enforcement of load
limits on Camino Tassajara resulted in increased construction traffic
on Sycamore Valley Road and placed the entire burden of safety and
road deterioration on the City of Danville. He requested. that County
staff meet with representatives of the City of Danville in an effort
to work out a solution.
Supervisor Robert Schroder noted that the problem was a
total community concern and agreed that such a meeting should occur.
Therefore, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that Public Works
staff is DIRECTED to meet with Supervisor Schroder and representatives
of the Cities of Danville, San Ramon and Dublin to define specific
problems related to construction traffic on Sycamore Valley Road and
Camino Tassajara and to determine a mutually acceptable solution.
