Zaharis from the San Ramon Valley Area Planning Commission Approval with Revised Conditions of the Application Filed by Peter and Ann Whitehead for Land Use Permint No. 2071-86 to Expand a Day Care Facility in the San Ramon area. The Board on August 19 , 1986 , declared its intent that on September 9 , 19862 it would continue its hearing on the above matter to September 16, 1986 at 2:30 p.m. On September 9, 1986, the Board continued the matter to September 23, 1986 at 2:30 p.m. rather than to September 16 , 1986 . The Chair noted that several interested persons had apparently not been made aware of the change in hearing date for the above matter and were desiring to give testimony on the matter at this time. The Chair advised that even though the public hearing had been continued to September 23, the Board would be happy to hear from these folks inasmuch as they indicated they had taken off work to appear here and probably would not be able to come back next week. The following persons appeared and addressed the Board : Hal Lynam, 24 Dogie Court, San Ramon who advised that he and his wife, who is a nurse, had a very difficult time locating day care facitlities for their adopted infant son, and felt very fortunate to have had him enrolled in The Child Day School. He advised that his son is now four and a half and will be entereing public schools, but that he and his wife feel that their son has had the kind of preparation that will allow him to do very well . He commented that there are many people moving into the area who will require the same quality of day care, personal attention and educational programs that his son has received and that he would very much like to indicate his sup- port of the expansion of the school' s enrollment to 125 children. Michael W. Arnold, 171 Maiden Lane, Danville who advised that he is the father of a four-year old hemopheliac boy who has been turned down in other day care facilities because of insurance. He stated that he had heard about The Child Day School through word of mouth and has had his son enrolled there for a year and a half and is very happy with the school. He stated that he felt the objection to expansion of the school was based on fear of increased traffic, but that the enrollment has been enlarged by 50 students since his son started and he has seen no visible change in the traf- fic pattern, but that there must be construction going on further on down the road on Bollinger Canyon Road and that there is more traffic leading to and from other parts of that road than to the day school. He stated that the day school does fill a niche in the com- munity and he would strongly support the school in any way he could, including driving all the way from his Alameda construction job to tell the Board about the school. This is a matter of record. No Board action was taken this day.
