HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09161986 - 1.22 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming ) the week of September 20 , 1986 ) RESOLUTION NO. 86/561 as "Coastweek" in Contra Costa ) County ) WHEREAS the California coast and the San Francisco Bay have varied shorelines of sandy beaches, rocky shores, productive marshes and wetlands, tidal mudflats, urban areas and harbors; and WHEREAS the coast and the Bay shorelines provide a rich scenic, recreational, cultural, natural and historical heritage; and WHEREAS the marine and estuarine environments are two of the most valuable resources for recreation, tourism, fishing and other water-related industries; and WHEREAS preserving the productivity and quality of coastal and estuarine resources requires public awareness and support and an understanding that protection of the Bay and coast is a responsibility shared by individual citizens, the business community and by public institutions; and WHEREAS National "Coastweek" will be held from September 20 through October 13, 1986 ; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County hereby PROCLAIMS the week of September 209 1986 as "Coastweek" in Contra Costa County. PASSED on September 16, 1986 by unanimous vote of the Board members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an order entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
