(applicant) to amend the Land Use Element of the County General Plan for approximately .48 acre in the Alamo area from Single Family Residential Low Density to Office Use; and James Cutler, Community Development Department, described the property site and its history. He explained that the building is basically a single family home used as a real estate office. The only way that the applicant can continue the use as a real estate office is to have the General Plan amended and the property rezoned for office use. Supervisor Schroder commented that the Board had received a request to continue this matter but felt that because the public hearing had been advertised that the Board should hear testimony today and continue the hearing for -two weeks. The Chairman opened the public hearing. The following people appeared and spoke in favor of the General Plan Amendment: Jack Smith, 1331 B Street, Hayward, attorney for the applicant; Carol Keating, 1468 Via Don Jose,, Alamo, of Geldermann Realty; Mrs. Anderson, 110 Southview Lane, Alamo; Eleanor Kantor, 180 Tracy Lane, Alamo; Barbara Rodrigues, Alamo, agent for Roundhill Realtors. The following people appeared in opposition to the General Plan Amendment: Daphne Clements, 3180 Roundhill Road, Alamo; Lois A. Barker, 2349 Royal Oaks Drive, Alamo, President of the Roundhill Property Owners' Association; Fred Sanders, 99 Tracy Court, Alamo; Hal Petrie, P.O. Box 271 , Alamo, representing the Alamo Improvement Association; Lou Renaud, 2365 Royal Oaks Drive, Alamo. T.7 Supervisor Schroder commented that if he were asked to recommend at this time on the General Plan Amendment to allow the sales office to remain, he would recommend against it based on the staff recommendation and the recommendation of the San Ramon Valley Area Planning Commission. He wished, however, to give the applicant a fair hearing due to long time use. He wished to give further con- sideration to the relationship between the sales office and the Union Oil Company property sales and the 160 cards that had been submitted by Carol Keating resulting from a mailing to the homeowners in Roundhill by Geldermann Realty. He wished to continue the matter to allow site visits and time to look at the cards from the homeowners, copies of which were presented to the Clerk in the Boardroom and are on record with the Clerk. He recommended continuing the matter to July 22, 1986 at 10:30 a.m. On the recommendation of Supervisor Schroder, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the hearing is CONTINUED to July 22, 1986 at 10:30 a.m. and written comments are also invited on this subject. I hereby certify that this Is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisor on the date shown.
