City of Pittsburg Frank Castiglione 2042 Harbor Street, Pittsburg 94565 BACKGROUND: On June 3 , 1986, the Board of Supervisors authorized the Internal Operations Committee to interview prospective candidates for regional planning commissions upon the recommendation of the Supervisor from that district. Supervisor Torlakson has identified a number of nominees for the six unincorporated areas of East County which will be represented on the East County Regional Planning Commission. The Internal Operations Committee has reviewed those applications and interviewed nearly all of the candidates as has Supervisor Torlakson. - The above recommendations represent the concurrence of the Internal Operations Committee and Supervisor Torlakson. While Supervisor McPeak was unable to sit in on the interviews, it is believed that she has no serious problems with these recommendations. The nominees from the three cities should be appointed since those nominations were delegated to the cities of Antioch, Pittsburg, and Brentwood. It is the intent of the Internal Operations Committee to include on the subcommittee on water issues and reservoirs, which is being separately recommended by Supervisors Fanden and Torlakson, some of those individuals who had applied for, but were not appointed to, the East County Regional Planning Commission, if the Board agrees with the establishment of such a subcommittee.
