RECOMMENDED ACTION: Introduce the attached revision to Ordinance 712-4.006, waive reading and set date for adoption. II. CC: Administrator's Officer ATTESTED July 8 , 1986 County Counsel --- ---- - PHIL BATCHELOR, CLERK OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AND COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR M882/7-83 BY DEPUTY ORDINANCE NO. 86- (Substandard Buildings) The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors ordains as follows (omitting the parenthetical footnotes from the official text of the enacted or amended portions of the County Ordinance Code) : SECTION 1. SUMMARY. This ordinance amends County Ordinance Code §712-4 .006, to conform to renumbered State regulations, to increase the interest charged on unpaid abatement expenses to the legal rate of interest, and to clarify that the use of the abatement procedures in §712-4. 006 is discretionary. SECITON II. Section 712-4 .006 of the County Ordinance Code is amended to read: 712-4 . 006 . Section 202 Amended - Sub-standard Buildings . Sections 202 is amended to read as follows: "Sec. 202. All buildings or portions thereof which are determined to be substandard as defined in this code are hereby declared to be public nuisances and may be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition or removal in accordance with the procedure specified in Article 6 (Actions and Proceedings) of Subchapter 1 (,State Housing Law Regulations) of Chapter l ,of Part I of Title 25 (Housing and Community Development) of the California Administrative Code (25 C.A.C. SS48 ff . ) ; however, interest accruing on any unpaid abatement expensepursuant to 25 C.A.C . §70 (b) shall be at the rate of 7% per annum, provided notice of such interest is given in the notice of lien filed with the county recorder. " (Ords . 86 S2, 81-27 §l . ) SECTION III . EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance becomes effective TO days after passage, and within. l5 days after passage shall be published once with the supervisors voting for and against it in the , a newspaper published in the county.
