SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute on behalf of the County, Medical Specialist Contract #626-038-11 with Cavett M. Robert, Jr., M.D., Inc. (specialty: Neurosurgery) for the period July 1, 1986 - April 30, 1987 to be paid as follows: a. $ 280 per neurosurgery clinic session, b. $ 80 per call-in consultation, or c. Two_thirds (2/3) customary fee for each operative procedure, including pre-operative and post-operative care of patient in consultation with County Hospital's attending surgeon. d. In addition, $ 2,500 ' per month.for on-call services. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Cost to the County depends upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third party payers will be billed for services. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical and Dental Specialists to provide specialized professional services which are not otherwise available in its hospital and clinics. On April 29, 1986, the Board approved Contract Extension Agreement #626-038-10 with Cavett M. Robert, Jr., M.D., Inc. for Neurosurgery ser- vices through June 30, 1986. Contract #626-038-11 continues these services through April 30, 1987. This Medical Specialist Contract is prepared in the standard format approved by County Counsel's Office and has been submitted to Cavett M. Robert, Jr., M.D., Inc. for signature. After signature by the contractor, the contract will be delivered to the Clerk of the Board for signature by the Board Chairman.
