HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07291986 - X.9 X.1 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring the ) RESOLUTION NO. 86/ 460 Concord Pleasant Hill Swim ) Team ) The Concord Pleasant Hill Swim Team has long distinguished itself in international swimming competitions. Most recently, Randy Everett, Concord, participated in the Goodwill Games in Moscow, U.S.S.R. , winning in his event. In August, 1986, the United States Swim Team will compete in the World Games in Madrid, Spain. Members of the Concord Pleasant Hill Swim Team who won in their respective races at the World Games Trials in Orlando, Florida, have been invited to to join the team. At a time 'when emphasis of the constructive and peaceful competition among nations is important to world peace, this participation by our young athletes of Contra Costa County is a source of pride for all citizens. We commend therefore, Pablo Morales, Laura Walker, and Lisa Dorman and Randy Everett for their dedication and determination to exhibit the best qualities of American sportsmanship. We honor Mitch Ivey, who has been invited to coach the United States Team. The standards of excellence which we honor in these young swimmers is a direct result of Coach Ivey' s personal involvement and encouragement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors that Randy Everett be commended for his achievement at the Goodwill Games Swimming events. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Coach Mitch Ivey, Pablo Morales, Laura Walker, Lisa Dorman and be commended for their achievements and that they also be extended best wishes for success in the . World Games by their fellow citizens. PASSED AND ADOPTED on July 29, 1986 by . a unanimous vote of the Board members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered in the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
