SUBJECT; Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement 429-435-8 with the State Department
of Alcohol and Drug Programs (State #D-0023-5, A-1)
SPECIFIC REQUESTS) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement 429-435-8 (State #D-0023-5, A-1) effective May 1, 1986, with the
State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs to amend Standard Agreement 429-435-7
(effective November 1, 1985 - October 31, 1986) for a budget modification for the
School-Community Primary Prevention Program - Youth Educators with no change in the
contract payment limit.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
This amendment will neither increase nor decrease the contract payment limit of
$81,952, but will allow minor budget modifications related to changes in staffing
patterns and modification of operating expense line item amounts . This contract is
fully funded by the State, and no County contribution is required.
III. REASONS FOR-RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
The County successfully competed for funds available for three-year grants under SB
1409 School-Community Primary Prevention Program in 1983. The program has operated
successfully in the County and is in the final year of funded operation. The
program has been operated under a subcontract with the Center for Human Development
(County Contract 424-301-10).
On February 25, 1986, the Board approved Contract 429-435-7 with the State
Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs for continuation of the School-Community
Primary Prevention Program - Youth Educators. The purpose of Contract Amendment
Agreement #29-435-8 is to adjust budget line item amounts to reflect actual amounts
needed for printing, books and publications, conferences, training, clerical sup-
port and facility rental. Staffing changes have occurred which allow reallocation
of salary to these areas .
This document has been approved by the Department's Contracts and Grants
Administrator in accordance with the guidelines approved by the Board's Order of
December 1, 1981 (Guidelines for contract preparation and processing, Health
Services Department) . .
The Board Chairman should sign nine copies of the contract, eight of which should
then be returned to the Contracts and Grants Unit for submission to State
Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs.
