Approval of Budget Modifications to Contract Amendment #29-435-5 with the
SUBJECT: State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs for the School-Community Primary
Prevention Program
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDATION
APPROVE budget modifications to Contract Amendment #29-435-5 (State Agreement
#D-0015-4 A-1) with the State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs which was pre-
viously approved by the Board on April 30, 1985 for augmentation of the
School-Community Primary Prevention Program, and
AUTHORIZE Elizabeth A. Spooner, Contracts and Grants Administrator, to counter-
initial on behalf of the County corrections in arithmetic errors found in said
modified Budget and AUTHORIZE resubmission of the Contract Amendment to the State
for counter-initialing by the State of said Budget corrections.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT.
None.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND.
On April 30, 1985 the Board approved Contract Amendment #29-435-5 with the State
Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs to amend Contract #29-435-4 (effective
November 1, 1984 through October 31, 1985) for augmentation of the School-Community
Primary Prevention Program with a $9,886 increase in the contract payment limit
(from $78,800 to a new total payment limit of $88,686).
The fully executed copy of Contract Amendment #29-435-5 which the State returned
to the County on June 13, 1985 contains a modified Budget (Exhibit B-1) which is
different from the Budget which is contained in the Contract Amendment #29-435-5 as
approved by the Board on April 30, 1985. Board approval of the modified Budget is
needed to preserve the validity and legality of the fully executed Contract
Amendment #29-435-5.
This budget modification has been approved by the Department's Contracts and Grants
Administrator in accordance with the guidelines approved by the Board's Order of
December 1, 1981 (Guidelines for contract preparation and processing, Health
Services Department).
After corrections of arithmetic errors in the Budget are counter-initialed by the
State, a copy will be submitted to the Clerk of the Board for County files.
