SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I . Recommended Action
Accept $350 gift to Public Health Laboratory from
Mr. Reginald Parks in recognition of superior effort and
proficiency. Said amount of $350. 00 to be placed in a
special fund for use of the Microbiology staff for
professional continuing education.

$350. 00 to Public Health Laboratory.
III . Background
Over the past thirteen years , Mary Dodd Brashear, a
Public Health Microbiologist Specialist, has been
instrumental in developing Contra Costa County ' s excellent
viral and chlamydial laboratory services . This gift is in
recognition of her professional contributions .

Enclosed is a check (# 2150 i_. the amount of $350.00. Please accept it as
a gift to the Public Health Laboratory, and may it be used for the profes-
sional continuing education of the microbiology staff.
This donation is being made in recognition of the superior effort and profi-
ciency demonstrated by the entire laboratory staff as a whole. The Public
Health Laboratory is the true support hub of all communicable disease control
in this county.
This gesture is effected now also in recognition of the exceptional profes-
sional contibutions made by departing Public Health Microbiologist Specialist,
Mary Dodd Brashear'. H,er efforts were key in the development of our excellent
viral and chlamydial laboratory services. Today is her last official day
with the county.
