Lee Kauftheil and Mary Lou Kauftheil - EizedwRaseagpep 'on and Contra Costa County Specific Requests or recommendations & Background and Justification RECOMMENDED ACTION: 1. Approve Ninth (9th) Amendment to Lease, and 2. Approve and Authorize the Chairwoman to execute, on behalf of the County, Ninth Amendment to Lease with L. Lee oKeafthazi and Mary Lou Kauftheil . FINANCIAL IMPACT: Increase fuel flowage fees for Aviation fuel from three cents ($.03) to four and one half percent (4.5%) of wholesale price per gallon. REASONS OR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: Fuel flowage fees were set approximately twenty years ago at the rate of three cents ($.03) per gallon, at which time the retail sales price for aviaton fuel was approximately thirty cents ($.30) per gallon. The increase to 4.5% of the wholesale price will currently return approximately five and one half (5 1/2) cents per gallon on all fuel delivered to the Airport. In addition, the percentage of wholesale price should help adjust itself to any future inflationary occurrences. L. Lee Kauftheil and Mary Lou Kauftheil are currently leasing an apron area immediately in front of their facilities. This apron is essential to their ability to conduct continued business. Under the old agreement, this apron area was subject to termination and was not considered a ''part of their master lease. This amendment will tie that apron to the master lease.; Future rental adjustments of the apron area is also spelled out specifically in the amendment. The Airport will provide maintenance to the asphalt surfaces of the apron area only.
