District Attorney --Position, RESOLUTION 85/ 431
Authority, Appointment, Status
and Salary.
THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLVES that:
1. Position: One position in the class of Senior Deputy District Attorney-
Exempt may be designated as Chief Deputy by the District Attorney.
2. Authority: The Senior Deputy District Attorney-Exempt acting in this
position shall stand next in authority to the District Attorney in all matters of
departmental operation as delegated, including the Public Administrator-Public Guardian.
3. Appointment:. The District Attorney is the appointing authority for the
exempt position designated Chief Deputy and the incumbent serves at the District Attorney' s
pleasure.
4. Status: An incumbent Senior Deputy District Attorney-Exempt assigned as
Chief Deputy retains status in the former class and in the classified service.
5. Salary: An incumbent Senior Deputy District Attorney-Exempt designated as
Chief Deputy shall be compensated within a five (5) step salary range, the top step of
which is approximately 12.62% in advance of the top step of the five (5) step salary range
for Senior Deputy District Attorney-Exempt. The salary range for Chief Deputy is
established at salary/schedule C5-2321 ($4625-5621) and the Contra Costa County Salary
Schedule for Exempt Classes is hereby modified to this effect.
