to General Fund Resolution 84/583
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION
To resolve that the County Auditor-Controller be authorized to transfer
monies in overage funds to the general fund in accordance with Government Code
Section 29380. 1.
BACKGROUND
"Overage funds" have been established in several departments in conjunction
with "cash difference funds", pursuant to Government Code Sections 29370-29381.
Section 29380 requires the transfer of these overages at the end of each fiscal year
to the general fund. Section 29380. 1 authorizes the Board to delegate this function
to the Auditor. This resolution would increase administrative efficiency by allowing
the inclusion of these transfers in our routine, year-end closing process, without
obtaining individual board orders. (See also Resolution 83/1062. )
