Supervisors Powers , Fanden , Schroder , McPeak; Torlakson NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Authorizing Medical/Dental Contribution Rates Effective August 1, 1984 Resolution 84/ 473 The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in all of its capacities as the governing body of this County and of the Districts and Agencies of which it is the governing body,. RESOLVES THAT: 1. The County is negotiating memoranda of understanding under the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, but has not reached agreement with the following recognized employee organizations: California Nurses Association Contra Costa County Appraisers Association Professional & Technical Employees, Local 512, AFSCME United Clerical Employees, Local 2700, AFSCME Western Council of Engineers Deputy Sheriffs' Association District Attorney Investigator's Association 2. The County has negotiated contracts with medical and dental care providers for medical and dental care to subscribing employees and their families based on changed rates and changed County and employee contributions effective August 1, 1984. 3. It is necessary that this Board authorize and determine the County and employee contribution rates required under the subject medical and dental care contracts notwithstanding . that memoranda of understanding have not been approved respecting the above named recognized employee organizations, in order to effectuate the contracts. 4. This Board authorizes and determines that the County and employee contribution rates for medical and dental plans for the employees represented by the above named recognized = employee organizations from and after.August.:l, 1984,.be =those expressed in the schedules attached hereto which are incor- . porated herein by reference. 5. The Employee Relations Officer shall give notice of this Resolution to all recognized employee organizations. 6. To the extent that the subjects of this Resolution are within the scope of representation under the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act (Government Code H3500 et seq.), this Board offers to meet with any recognized employee organization representing affected employees upon request concerning this Resolution. 7. Recognized employee organizations representing affected employees may submit to the Employee Relations Officer writ- ten requests to meet and confer on specific proposals with respect to this Resolution. RESOLUTION NO . 84/473 0003'70 8. This action is taken without. prejudice to pending consulting, meeting, and meeting and conferring with employee organ- izations. 9. This Resolution is an emergency action.
