FISCAL IMPACT: The fiscal impact of this reorganization is $110,837.00 which is included in the approved Library budget for fiscal year 2007-2008. BACKGROUND: The Library is restructuring Project Second Chance, the adult literacy unit of the Library, in order to integrate literacy services into mainstream library services and to lead the implementation of a new strategic initiative for promoting reading to all age levels in all communities. To accomplish these strategic priorities, the Library is requesting to establish the classification of Adult Literacy Program Manager; transition position #6194 into the classification and establish the Library Literacy and Reading Program Manager and add one position. The classifications are responsible for the management and supervision of the County's adult literacy program.
