NOTICE OF TWO SPECIAL MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Chair of the Board of Supervisors has
called the following special meetings of the Contra Costa County Board of
Supervisors.
H. SPECIAL MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 8, 1992
On Wednesday, July 8, 1992, 2 p.m. , at the George Gordon Center, Golden
Gate Room, 500 Court Street, Martinez, California, the Contra Costa County
Board of Supervisors in its capacity as governing board of the County of Contra
Costa and all the districts of which it is the ex-officio governing board will hold
a special meeting, the business of which shall be to consider and act upon the
following matters with the Ad Hoc Budgetary Advisory Committee:
1. Consideration of the State budget and County income short-falls and the
impact of these matters on the 1992-1993 budget plans of the County and special
districts.
2. Discussion of sources of revenue and methods for fund savings.
3. Discussion of possible reductions in County services and changes in
service delivery.
4. Discussion of efforts and methods of approaches to the State Legislature
and administration to reduce the adverse effects of the State budget and
mandates on the County.
H.2 SPECIAL MEETING ON THURSDAY, JULY 9, 1992
On Thursday, July 9, 1992, 9 a.m. , in the Board Chambers, County
Administration Building 651 Pine Street, Martinez, California, the Contra Costa
County Board of Supervisors in its capacity as governing board of the County of
Contra Costa and all the districts of which it is the ex-officio governing board
will hold a special meeting, the business of which shall be to consider and act
upon the following matters:
1. Briefing from the County Administrator on the status of efforts to adopt
a State Budget.
2. Consideration of and action to make adjustments in the proposed County
Budget for the 1992-1993 fiscal year.
3. Consider stating the Board's intent to reduce the Proposed County
Budget by approximately $50 million.
4. Consider action to direct the County Administrator and Department
Heads to provide the Board with staff, program, and contract reduction
proposals at the Board's adjourned meeting on July 16, 1992.
5. Consider criteria for the manner and sequence in which reductions to
the Proposed County Budget are to be made.
6. Consider direction to various staff to enter into discussion with
employee organizations and with the Courts on the extent and manner in which
various reductions will be made.
7. Consider indicating the Board's intent to adjourn the regular Board
meeting of July 14, 1992 to July 16, 1992, July 17, 1992, and July 20, 1992, for
the purpose of receiving the reports requested on July 9, 1992, receiving public
testimony on the Proposed County Budget for the 1992-1993 fiscal year and for
the purpose of making adjustments in the Proposed County Budget for the
1992-1993 fiscal year.
8. To take such other related actions as may be required.
