RESOLUTION No. e 5 6 WHEREAS this Board is aware of the studies being made in connection with the proposed reapportionment of the California Senate; and WHEREAS this Board believes that any reapportionment plan whereby one section of the State would gain control of both the Senate and the Assembly of the Legislature of the State of California would contravene traditional democratic processes which are observed by the United States Government a.nd all States in the Union; NOW', THEREFORE, on motion of Supervisor Kenny, seconded by Supervisor Nielsen, this Board goes on record as being un- alterably opposed to any reapportionment plan which has as its objective or result the control of both the Senate and Assembly of the Legislature of the State of California by any one section of the State . PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of January, 1962, by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors James P . Kenny, Mel F. Nielsen, Thomas Jahn Coll, Edmund A . Linscheid, Joseph S . Silva . NOES. None . ABSENT: None . No.. 05 45 16
