In the Matter of Bids and award-
ing contract for the improvement RESOLUTION Nth. 48 .1
of Golf Club Road, Pleasant Hill
Area.
WHEREAS, this Board having heretofore advertised for bids for
the improvement of Golf Club Road between Grayson Creek and the
Contra Costa Canal in the Pleasant Hill area,
and this being the time and place set out in the Notice to Contractors
for the receiving of bids, bids are received from the following and
are read by the Clerk:
Gallagher & Burk, Inc., 3" High Street, Oakland;
Antioch Paving Co., Inc., Rt. 1, Box 535, Antioch;
Martin Brothers, Inc.s 252,E Concord Avenue, Concord;
Oliver de Silva, Inc., 2333 Eden Read, San Leandro,
Eugene G. Alves Construe-tion Co., Inc., P. 0. Bog 950, Pittsburg;
McGuire and Hester, 796 -• 66th Avenue, Oakland;
J. R. Armstrong Construction Co., Inc., 5741 Central ,Avenue,
El Cerrito;
0. C. Jones & Sons, 1520 Fourth Street, Berkeley;
and the Public Works Director having recommended to this Board the
bid of Gallagher & Burk Inc. as the lowest and
best bis e doing o said wor an s 'Board finding that the
said bid (total based on unit prices for estimated quantity:

said work, and w ich bid is on file in the office of the County
Clerk of Contra Costa County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the contract for the
furnishing of labor and materials for said work be and the same is
hereby awarded to said Gallagher & Burk, Inc.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the District Attorney of Contra
Costa County shall prepare the contract for the doing of said work.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of this Beard hold the
bid bonds of Antioch Paving Co., Inc., and Martin Brothers, Inc., the
second and third lowest bidders, until the contract has been fully
executed.
