HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 10172007 - RES-471 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA EX-OFFICIO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY WATER AGENCY In the Matter of Water Service to Southern RESOLUTION NO. 4 7 � r Contra. Costa. County. WHEREAS Supervisor Mel F. Nielsen has received assur- ances from the State Department of Water Resources to the effect that 12,000 acre feet of South Bay Aqueduct water will be re- served for southern Contra Costa County until May 31, 1962; and WHEREAS this Board has taken the position that the water supply eventually constructed in southern Contra Costa County should insure development of the steeper lands as well as the valley floors, and should provide quality water at an economical cost; and WHEREAS there now exists two possible sources of water in southern Contra Costa County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Mr. Victor W. Sauer, Manager of the Agency, is hereby directed to request the East Bay Municipal Utility District to undertake, in cooperation with the Valley Community Services District, a feasibility study for water service to southern Contra. Costa: County and northern Alameda County to Highway 50; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the District Attorney' s Office, the County Administrator's Office and the Public Works Department study, in cooperation with the Valley Community Services District, possible entities which could contract for South Bay Aqueduct waster in the event this means of supply be- comes the chosen alternate, and recommend to the Board after the study is completed. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of December, 1961, by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors Mel F. Nielsen, Thomas John Coll, Edmund A. Linscheid. NOES: None . ABSENT: Supervisors James P . Kenny, Joseph S. Silva. RESOLUTION No. 471
