HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 10172007 - RES-451 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Reaffirmation of policy with reference to RESOLUTION No. 4 5 Emergency Sandbag Operations . WHEREAS, this Board having on December 2, 195$, adopted a resolution. setting forth the policy with reference to emergenty sandbag operations, and having on January 13, 1959 and October 1� 1, 1960, reaffirmed said policy; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said polity, as hereinafter set forth, be and the same is again REAFFIRMED: 1 . First priority shall be given by County forces to the protection of its highways, bridges and public buildings and other public works, and to the pre- vention of inundation on an area, basis . 2. Any available residual resources shall be utilized to provide sandbag protection to properties on an individual basis . 3. Sandbag protection to private properties shall be coordinated under the control of the Civil Defense Director in lieu of the past arrangement whereby the Public Works Department and the Sheriff's De- partment separately conducted sandbag programs . Traditionally, the Sheriff has operated in the eastern section of the County and the Public Works Department has functioned in the central and west- ern areas of the County. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of November, 1961, by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors James P. Kenny, lel F. Nielsen, Thomas John Coll, Edmund A. Linscheid, Joseph S. Silva.
