HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 10172007 - RES-427 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA - - - - - RESOLUTION NO, 427 RESOLUTION AND ORDER DECLARING THAT THE TERRITORY DESCRIBED IN THE PETITION FOR INCORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL TO BE DULY INCORPORATED AS A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE SIXTH CLASS UNDER THE NAME AND STYLE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL, AND DECLARING THE PERSONS ELECTED TO THE OFFICE OF COUNCILMEN OF SAID MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, The Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa, State of California, does resolve as follows: THAT a petition for the incorporation of certain terri- tory within the County of Contra Costa into a municipal corpora- tion of the Sixth Class to be known as the City of Pleasant Hill having been presented and filed with this Board of Supervisors; THAT all proceedings required by law having been taken and the election for said incorporation having been held on Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 1961; THAT the Board hereby finds that said election was held in accordance with law; NOW, THEREFORE, this Board hereby finds and declares : 1. THAT the total vote cast at said election pursuant to canvass of votes had this date is as follows : For Incorporation 3173 votes Against Incorporation 223+ votes THAT this Board does hereby find and declare that the votes cast in favor of incorporation constitute a majority of the votes cast at the election, and does hereby declare the Cit;v of Pleasant Hill to be duly organized an existing municipal corporation of the State of California. 2. THAT pursuant to canvass of the votes for candi- dates for the office of Councilmen for the City of Pleasant Hill is as follows : Theodore W. Alverson 540 votes Harry W. Coffin 306 votes Thomas F.
