HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 10172007 - RES-401 SN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Expressing appreciation to State Highway Commission and State agencies serving in the field of motor RESOLUTION No. 401 transportation for recognition given to and action taken on highway problems of Contra Costa County. WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors that more than $19,000,000 has been al- located. in the fiscal. year 1962-63 for present and future freeways in Contra Costa County, including nearly $2,500,000 for rights of way; and WHEREAS, this amount includes $12,900,000 for construction of 6 .8 miles of freeway from the present- end of Highway 21 freeway near Rudgear Road to a point one mile south of Danville; and WHEREAS, $3, 150,000 has been included for construction of 2.9 miles of freeway for extension of Highway 75-E to north of Solano Way in Concord; and WHEREAS, the roads in these areas are heavily congested and the freeway construction will open up the central portion of the County for greatly accelerated traffic movement and increased economic growth; and WHEREAS, the State Department of Public Works, the State Dividon of Highways, and District SV of the Division have shown continuous high level cooperation with Contra. Costa County; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Super- visors of Contra. Costa County does hereby express to the State Highway Commission and the State agencies serving in the field of motor transportation its appreciation and thanks for the recogni- tion given to and action taken on the highway problems of Contra Costa County. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 31st day of October, 1961, by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors Fames P. Kenny, Mel F. Nielsen, Thomas John Coll, Edmund A. Linscheid, Joseph S. Silva . NOES: None. ABSENT: None .
