In the matter of the incorporation )
of the City of Pleasant Hill. I RESOLUTION NO. 246
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa does
resolve as follows:
THAT this Board did on the lOth of August, 1961, continue
this hearing on the proposed incorporation of the City of Pleasant
Hill to the l5th day of August, 1961, at which time the date for
election was to be fixed; and
THAT this Board hereby finds and determines that thelyrotezts
s
to the propoed incorporation do not constitute fifty-one (5 percent
of the assessed valuation of the land and, therefor, , the election must
be ;called; and
THAT this Board finds and determines the matters herein
contained and approves the following Notice of Election.
"NOTICE OF ELECTION ON THE QUESTION OF THE PROPOSED
INCORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT HILL
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election shall be
held on Tuesday, November. 7, 1961, between the hours of
7: 00 a.m. and 7:00 P.m. within the boundaries hereinafter
described on the question of whether said territory shall
be incorporated as a general law city.
The name of the proposed city shall be the "City of
Pleasant Hill" . The number of inhabitants within the
boundaries of the proposed city is approximately 23,000.
At said election the electors shall vote on candidates
fop the Office of City Councilmen and the five (5) successful
candidates shall take office as provided by law in the event
the incorporation Is approved.
The boundaries of the proposed city within. which the
election shall be conducted are as follows : ------------

PLEASANT HILL INCORPCRATION
Beginning at the intersection of the north line of Golf
Club Road (40 feet in width) with the center line of Grayson Creek;
thence Southerly along the center line of Grayson Creek to the south
line of Taylor Boulevard; thence Westerly and Southerly along the
southern and eastern lines of Taylor Boulevard to the northeastern
line of Brookwood Acres filed April 22, 1913 in Map Book 9, page 217;
thence Southeasterly along the northeastern line of Brookwood Acres
to the southwest corner of Sherwood Heights filed October 8, 1946 in
Map Book 31 page 13; thence Easterly along the southern line of
Sherwood Heights to the northeast corner of the parcel of land de-
scribed in the deed from Gla ribel R. Bell to Robert E. Whitfield,
et ux, recorded January 21, 1953, Recorders File No. 3241; thence
South along the east line of the said Whitfield parcel 275 feet to
the southeast corner thereof, being in the center of Pleasant Hill
Road; thence Southerly along the center of Pleasant dill Road and the
southerly extension thereof to its intersection with western exten-
sion of the center line of Geary Road; thence Easterly along the said
western extension and along the center line of Geary Road, being along
the northern line of the City of Walnut Creek to the center line of
Putnam Boulevard; thence Northerly along the center line of Putnam
Boulevard to its intersection with the western extension of the south
line of Lot 1, El Dorado Park Unit No. 1 filed July 8, 1947 in Map
Book 33, page 25; thence Easterly along the said extension and along
the southern line of Lots 1 to 11 inclusive to the southeast corner
of Lot 11; thence Easterly crossing Portola Way to the southwest
corner of Lot 12; thence continuing Easterly along the southern line
of Lots 12 to 20 inclusive to the most southerly corner of Lot 20,
being on the westerly line of Eccleston Avenue; thence Northerly along
the western line of .Eccleston avenue to the intersection thereof with
the northwestern extension of the southwestern line of Lot 103, E1
Dorado Park, Unit No. 1• thence Southeasterly along the said extension,
along the southwestern sine of Lot 103 and along the southeasterly
extension thereof, to the westerly line of Lot 8, Block I, Pleasant HiII

the most western corner of the north portion of Lot 9 described in the

Easterly along the northern line of Pleasant Hill Homesites to the
southwest corner of the parcel of land described in the deed from

of the said Gorman parcel to the northwest corner thereof- thence

the eastern extension thereof to the eastern Line of Pleasant Valley
Drive; thence South 5 feet along, the east line of Pleasant Valley
Drive to the north line of the stripp of land, 5 feet in width,. de-

the southwestern line of the State Freeway; thence Northery along

of the said Gianelli parcel; thence Westerly along the northern line
of the said Gianelli parcel (482 Deeds 372) to the eastern line of
the said Contra Costa Highway, being an angle corner in the boundary
line of the City of Concord- thence Southerly along the eastern lime
of Contra Costa Highway to its intersection with the eastern extension
of the northern line of Golf Club Road (40 feet in width) ; thence
Westerly along the said eastern extension and along the northern lime
of Golf Club Road to the center of Grayson Creek, the point of
beginning.
