San Francisco Yacht Club
permission to use water-
ways governed by Contra ) RESOLUTION NO°' 221
Costa County. l
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra
Costa does resolve as follows:
THAT the San Francisco Yacht Club is granted per-
mission to conduct a Midnight Moonlight Maritime Marathon in
San Pablo Bay, August 12, 1961, at 1.500 to August 13, 1300, and
WHEREAS, said Club has requested permission of this
Board to use the waterways governed by Contra Costa County;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS BY THIS BOARD RESOLVED that per-
mission is granted to said Club to use the waterways governed by
Contra Costa County, subject to the following conditions:
1. That said Club shall also receive necessary permission
from Federal and Municipal authorities through whose
waters this race will progress;
2. That the lags of the State of California relative to
speed on rivers and waterways (Sections 267 and 26$
of the State of California Harbors and Navigation
Code) shall be complied with by said applicant,
3. Participation in this race does not relieve the
participants in any way of their individual re-
sponsibilities to obey the ORules for Navigation
of Rivers, Harbors and Inland Waters of the United
States known as OInland Rules";
4. Applicant must comply with Contra Costa County
Boating Ordinance No. 13$4.
5. Applicant must supply safety patrols to warn other
craft of the race in progress and to render such
aid to participating craft as may be necessary.

PASSED AND ADOPTED this lst day of August, 1961, by
the following vote of the Board:
AYES: Supervisors James P. Kenny, Mel F. Nielsen,
Thomas Jahn Coll, Edmund A. Linscheid, Joseph
S. Silva.
NOES: Nene.
