HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 10172007 - RES-183 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Mater of Resolution infavor of passage of bill RESOLUTION NO. S. 104. 1 WHEREAS, The Honorable Clair Engle, "United Stares Senator from California, has introduced bill S. 100 in the United States Senate; and WHEREAS, the purpose of bill S . 140 is to expand and extend the saline water conversion program under the direction of the Secretary of the Interior to provide for accelerated research, development, demonstration, and ap- plication of practical means for the economical production, from sea or other saline waters, of water suitable for agri- cultural., industrial, municipal, and other beneficial con- sumptive uses, and for other purposes; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, California, is keenly interested in the accomplish- ment of the purposes set forth in bill S. 100; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board of Supervisors goes on record as strongly in favor of the pas- sage of S. 104; and BE IT FURTHER. RESOLVED that this Board of Super- visors again goes on record as favoring the establishment in Contra Costa County, California, of a demonstration plant for saline water conversion; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this reso- lution be transmitted to The Honorable Clair Engle and The Honorable Thomas H. Kuchel, United States Senators, to The Honorable John F. Baldwin, Representative in Congress, Sixth District of California, to Mr. Bernard F. Hillenbrand, Exe- cutive Director, National Association of County Officials, and to Mr. William R. MacDougall., General Counsel and. Manager, County Supervisors Association of California. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of June, 1961, by the following vote of the Board. AYES: Supervisors Fames P. Kenny, Niel F . Nielsen, Thomas John Coll, Edmund A. Linscheid, Joseph S. Silva. NOES; None . ABSENT: None .
