HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 10172007 - RES-174 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Protest Hearing on Proposed In- corporation of the City 4 of Pleasant Hill. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa does resolve as follows : THAT pursuant to the resolution and order of this Board adopted the 16th day of May, 1961, the hearing on the proposed in- corporation of the City of Pleasant Hill was held by this Board on the 20th day of June, 1961; and THAT Mr. John Scaglione, one of the proponents for the proposed incorporation of the City of Pleasant Hill, read a state- ment filed. June 20, 1961, in which he set forth reasons for the proposed incorporation; and THAT the following appeared and requested exclusion of certain properties, for which petitions for exclusion have been filed with the Clerk: Mr. George Gordon, Attorney representing a number of Pro- testants north of Arnold Industrial Highway, who requested ex- clusion of all land lying north of the Arnold Industrial High- way; Mr. Francis Hoey, City Attorney of Martinez, who referred to Resolution No.. 41 adopted by the City Council of Martinez on June 12, 1961, requesting exclusion of industrial lands north of Arnold Industrial Highway and lands adjacent to lands of the City of Martinez in the event owners request exclusion. Mr. Hoey also filed a petition signed by Mr. Alfred Lawrence Toft requesting exclusion of 48 acres lying west of Pleasant Hill Road; Mr. Ken Prosser, City Councilman of Martinez, who also re- ferred to Resolution No. 41, and requested exclusion of prop- erties referred to in said resolution; Mr. Robert Condon, Attorney representing the Martinez Area Chamber of Commerce, who filed a resolution requesting exclu- sion of any area that is reasonably within the spheres of in- fluence of the City of Martinez; Mr. Sam Hall, Attorney representing property owners north of Arnold Industrial. Highway and the Contra Costa Golf Club, who requested exclusion of property north of Arnold Industrial Highway, the Contra Costa Golf Club, property owned by himself within the proposed boundaries, and the properties of the Slater Brothers, J. Meyer, et al; Mr. King Parker, Jr. , representing the Pacheco Chamber of Commerce and a majority of property owners in the community of Pacheco, area-wise, who requested exclusion of area bounded north by Arnold Industrial Highway, east by Buchanan Field, south by Golf Club Road and west by Contra Costa Canal, and requested that the boundaries of the City of Pleasant Hill be established on the north at Golf Club Road; Mr. John Teeling, resident of Gloria Terrace, represent- ing the Brookwood Association, who referred to petition con- taining names of 112 residents and property owners, and re- quested exclusion of the Brookwood area; Mr. Howard Kepler, representing the Walden area, who re- quested exclusion of the Walden area from the boundaries of the proposed City of Pleasant Hill; Mr. Richard B. Wright, President of the Reliez Hills Home Association, who filed with the Clerk a petition signed by owners of 55 parcels of land, requesting exclusion of the Reliez Hills area; Mr. Roy N. Green, on behalf of the El Dorado Home Owners Association, who requested exclusion of property in the El Dorado area; Mr. William Menegus, representing residents north of Main Street and south of Oak Grove Road, who requested exclu- sion of property in this area; Mr. L. W. Scarlett of the :Prank Marshall Realty Company, representing Mr. Peter Frumenti, who requested exclusion of properties of Santos, Hall, Marshall, Toft, et al; and THAT the hearing on the proposed incorporation of the City of Pleasant Hill be continued until Tuesday, July 1$, 19610 at 3 p.m. , in the Chambers of the Board of Supervisors, Hall of Records, Main and Court Streets, Martinez, California. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of June, 1961, by the following vote of the Board: AYES. Supervisors James P. Kenny, Mel F. Nielsen, Edmund A. Linscheid, Joseph S. Silva . NOES: None . ABSENT: Supervisor Thomas John Coll .
