HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 10172007 - RES-162 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming the week of July 2, 1961, as RESOLUTION NO, 162 "National Safe Boating Week.'t WHEREAS, increasing numbers of our citizens are participating in boating for health and relaxation; and WHEREAS, this increase in recreational boating has greatly increased the use of our waterways and has in- tensified the need for close adherence to accepted safe- boating practices to prevent needless loss of life and damage to property; and. WHEREAS, continued cooperation among persons and organizations interested in boating is necessary to main- tain our steady progress towards the ultimate goal of cour- teous and safe boating throughout the year; NOW, THEREFORE, in recognition of the importance of safe-beating. practices, this Board of Supervisors does hereby designate the week beginning July 2, 1961, as "National Safe Boating Meek, " and urges all persons and organizations interested in recreation boating, and the boating industry, government agencies and other groups to observe "National Safe Boating Week." PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of June, 1961, by the following vote of the Board: AYES: Supervisors James P. Kenny, Mel F . Nielsen, Thomas John Coli., Edmund A. Linscheid, Joseph S . Silva. NOES: None . ABSENT: None . RESOLUTION NO. 162
