CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Declaring
Willow Road in the City of
Hercules a County Road Pur- RESOLUTION NO.
suant to Section 1.700 of the
Streets and Highways Code.
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Contra Costa
does resolve as follows :
THAT the hereinafter described portion of willow Road
in the City of Hercules was granted to the County of Contra Costa
for public use by Resolution of Relinquishment of the State
Highway Commission dated August 3, 1934, and. recorded August 15s
1934, in Volume 367 of Official Records at page 274, in the office
of the County Recorder; and
THAT said road which County owned in fee was annexe-d to
the City of Hercules by Annexation dated December 2, 19x8; and
THAT the City of Hercules has requested the County of
Contra Costa to declare that portion of Willow Road within the
limits of the City of Hercules between the northeasterly city
boundary and the present State route IV-CC-106-Hercules, a County
Highway with respect to its construction, maintenance, improvement
and repair; and
THAT this Board deems it for the best interest of the
County of Contra Costa that the hereinafter described portion of
said Willow Road be and is hereby declared a County Road pursuant
to Section 1700 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California; and
THAT portion of Willow Road within the City of Hercules
declared to be a County Highway is more particularly described as
follows :
A portion of Rancho El Pinole, described as all of that
parcel of land described in the Relinquishment of Right
of Way in Contra Costa County, Road IV-CC-14-B by the
California Highway Commission recorded August 15, 1934,
in Volume 367 of Official Records at Page 274, Contra Costa
County records; Excepting therefrom, that portion of the
right of way lying westerly of the easterly City Limits
of Hercules and northerly of a line bearing South_ 51°081
;vest from the most southerly corner of that 2.272 acre
parcel of land described in the deed from Contra Costa
County to Linus Claeys, et ux, recorded January 5, 1960s
in Volume ' 3528, Page 216, said point being on the easterly
line of the City of Hercules and distant South 380521 East,
464.15 feet from the. intersection of said easterly: line of
the City of Hercules and the westerly line of said Relin-
quishment parcel (367 OR 254).
RESOLUTION NO.
THAT the Clerk of the Board is directed to cause a certi-
fied copy of this resolution to be recorded in the office of the
County Recorder and a cop;; to be xorwarded to the governing body of
the City of Hercules pursuant to Section 1701 o.f the Streets and
Hi hways Code of the State of California; and
TIIAT upon the City of Hercules adopting; a City Ordinance
consenting to the establishment of Willow Road as a County Highway,
Contra Costa County shall have jurisdiction with respect to its
construction, maintenance, improvement and repair.
PASSED AICA ADOPTED this 13th day of June, 1961, by at
least a four-fifths (4/5) vote of the Board:
AYES: Supervisors - James P. Kenny Mei. F. Nielsen,
Thomas John Coll, Edmund A. Linscheid, Joseph
S. Silva.
NOES: Supervisors - None.
ABSENT: Supervisors - Nene.
