CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Endorsin a
Bill to Amend Section 10090.5 RESOLUTION NO.
of the Health and Safety Code. 2 2
WfEREAS, Section 10060 of the Health and Safety
Code of the State of California now requires the maintenance
of duplicate birth and death records by the County Recorder;
and
WHEREAS, the maintnenace of such duplicate records
is costly and unnecessary, and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bills Nos . 407 and 408 introduced
at the regular 1.96.1 session of the California Legislature
would cause this wasteful practice to be continued, and
WHEREAS, the County Administrator, with the approval
of the County Health Officer, has presented to this Board a
proposed amendment to Section 10060.5 of the Health and
Safety Cade which would except this county from the require-
ment of keeping duplicate records,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board
hereby voices its opposition to Assembly Bills Nos. 407 and
408 and does hereby endorse said proposed amendment of
Section 10060.5 of the Health and Safety Code, a copy of
which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of April, 1961,
by the following vote of the Boards

The Pile of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 10060.5 of the Health and Safety
Code is amended to read:
10060.5. Any local registrar serving a county-wide
health ,jurisdiction of over 559,98Q X00,000 population, as
determined by the official 1958 39" b0 census, and in whose
office is maintained a central depository of birth and death
records, is excepted from the provisions of Section 10000 of
this code.
