IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION NO. 2007/21
RECOGNIZING THE EXTENSIVE PUBLIC SERVICE
OF RETIRED RICHAIONDMAYOR 1RAL4 ANDERSON
Whereas, Irma Anderson received her R.N. and R.S.N. from Cornell Llnivcrsity, and her Masters of Public
Flealth from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health;and
Whereas, Irina Anderson has served the Contra Costa cotilinullity as Director of Public Health Nursing,
ailadvocate, a public official, and.a citizen for over.,50 years; and

when she received the highest number Of votes 1*11 het�,'Ity Council election in November 1993 and
served oil the City Council until December 2001 d

first African-Arnericom woman elected:Mayor of.a major California city,and served as Riclitnond's
