HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01012005 - 2005-661 $k- In Appreciation of ) Nina Goldman, ) Service Integration Program Manager ) RESOLUTION NO.2005/661 WHEREAS,Nina Goldman joined the County Administrator's Office in 1994,working on fiscal and public policy analyses in support of the County's efforts to create more efficient and effective service delivery systems in Health and Human Services;and WHEREAS,after receipt of her Masters Degree in Public Policy in 1995,Ms.Goldman was promoted to Program Developer/Service Integration Specialist;and in that role was instrumental in the redesign of Contra Costa's welfare system and creation of the County's first Children's Report Card and first Children and Family Services Budget;and WHEREAS,Ms.Goldman also pioneered new systems in the Service Integration Program to better support children and families in need,including cross-disciplinary family assessments,collaborative case management and results-based accountability;and WHEREAS,Ms.Goldman was appointed Service Integration Program Manager in 1997 and has since guided its development into a nationally recognized program that has proven its ability to improve the lives of children and families;and WHEREAS,under Ms. Goldman's leadership,Service Integration has become a collaborative partnership engaging the community,schools,community-based organizations and foundations in targeted interventions that give children and their parents opportunities and supports so that they can successfully meet life's challenges and be productive" members of society;and WHEREAS,Ms. Goldman has developed the underlying organizationalinfrastructure necessary for program sustainability,such as interagency memorandums of understanding,confidentiality agreements,protocols,joint case management systems;and program and system evaluations,including cross-agency outcomes;and WHEREAS,during this time Ms. Goldman also launched the County's first earned income tax credit campaign, which returned over$1.3 million in federal tax refunds to 1200 low-income families in 2004;and' WHEREAS,in all of her endeavors Nina Goldman has demonstrated an incredible depth of commitment to improving the lives of children and families,devoting her considerable brilliance and creativity to the endeavor, inspiring others and making a true difference; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors,on behalf of all the children and families in Contra Costa County,hereby expresses'sincere and deep appreciation to Nina Goldman for her efforts. PASSED by a unanimous vote of the Board of Supervisors members present this 1st day of November, 2005.
