RESOLUTION 'INITIATING PROCEEDINGS FOR REORGANIZATION
BY ANNEXATION OF THE CAYUCOS DRIVE EXTENSION TO THE
CITY OF WALNUT CREEK AND THE CONCURRENT DETACIMNT
OF THE SAME TERRITORY FROM THE PLEASANT HILL RECREATION
AND PARK DISTRICT
The Board of Supervisors of Contra ' Costa County RESOLVE'S THAT :
Reorganization by annexation of the territory described
in Exhibit "A" , attached hereto and by reference incorporated
herein , o the City of Walnut Creek and by the concurrent detach--
ventof the same territory from the Pleasant Hill Recreation and.
Park District has been proposed by the Cit; of ;Walnut Creek .
Contra Costa County is found to be the principal court>y, the
City of Walnut Creek being; within Contra Costa County.
A resolution of ap-plication for the proposed reorra.ni--
zation was filed by the City of Walnut Creek with the Executive
Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission on October -15 ,
197.1. The reason for the proposed .reorganization is to enable
the said territory to become a part of the City of Walnut Creek.;
The Local Agency Formation Commission approved the
proposed reorganization on December 1 , 1971.
At 1.1:00 a.m. on Tuesday,, January 25, 1972, in the
Chambers of the Board of Supervisors , Administration Building,
Martinez ,, California, this Board will conduct a public hearing
on the proposed reorganization. At the hearing the testimony
of all interested persons or taxpayers for or against the
proposed reorganization will be heard. Any interested person
desiring to make written pretest against the proposed reorp;ani-
zation must do so by written communication filed with the Clerk
of this Board not later than 11:00 a.m. , on Tuesday , January 25,
1972 . A written protest by an owner of land dust contain a
description sufficient to identify the land owned by him. A
written protest by a voter must contain the residential address
of such, voter.
At the conclusion of the hearing, the Board of Supervisors
shall either disapprove the proposed reorganization to detach
and annex or order the reorganization without election if

insufficient written protestsfor the same had been filed and
a majority protest is not deemed> to exist .
The Clerk of the Board is hereby directed to publish the
text of this resolution once a ween for two successive weeks in
the "Contra Costa Times ," a newspaper of general circulation,
published in this County and circulated' in the territory of each
of the districts proposed to be af'f'ected by the reorganization,,
the first publication to be made not later than fifteen (15)
days prior to the hearing date. The Clerk of the Board is also
directed to post the text of, this resolution on the bulletin
board of this Board at least fifteen (15) days prior to the
hearing; date and such posting will continue to the time of the
hearing,
The Clerk of the ,Board is further directed to give notice by
railing notice of hearing; at least fifteen (15) days prior to the
hearing date: to each affected district and to each person who has
filed a notice for special notice with the County Clerk .
PASSED AND ADOPTED on December 14 , 1971, by this Board.
