O'Malley for Drug RESOLUTION NUMBER 71/779 Abuse Prevention Services } WHEREAS Mr. William A. O'Malley, District Attorney, has served for a period of two years as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Contra Costa County Drug Abuse Council; and WHEREAS Mr. O'Malley has also served in the role of the county official responsible for developing a coordinated countywide drug abuse control plan as required by state law; and WHEREAS drug abuse is a serious county social problem with respect to drug use by both ,juveniles and adults; and WHEREAS Mr. O'Malley devoted a substantial amount of time and effort to the aforesaid roles, over and above his regular duties as District Attorney, during a period when there were many community drug abuse prevention efforts which were not coordinated to obtain the most effective results; and WHEREAS under the guidance of Mr. O'Malley significant drug abuse prevention advances were made and a substantial degree of coordination between programs and projects was obtained; and WHEREAS the press of his official duties as District Attorney requires that Mr. O'Malley resign from his assignment to the aforesaid special roles; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that it expresses deep appreciation to Mr. William A. O'Malley, District Attorney, for his concerted efforts as Chairman, Executive Committee, Contra Costa County Drug Abuse Council, and as Countywide Drug Abuse Coordinator, and commends him for the effective results obtained while serving in said assignments. ADOPTER by the Board this 16th day of November, 1971, by the following vote: AYES. Supervisors A. M. Dias, J. E. Moriarty, W. N. Boggess, E. A. Linscheid, J. P. Kenny. NOES. None. ABSENT. None.
