SUBJECT: Consummate Purchase and Accept
Quitclaim Deed for the EI Sobrante Branch Library

The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, RESOLVES THAT:
This Board on June 15, 1999, passed Resolution of Intention No. 99/304 and Notice fixing July 13,
1999, at 9:00 a.m. in its Chambers, County Administration Building, 651 Pine Street, Martinez, California, as
the time and place where it would meet to consummate the purchase of the real property described therein
from the Contra Costa County Employees' Retirement Association, for County library purposes. Said
Resolution was duly published in the Centra Costa Times in compliance with Govt. Code Section 6063.
The Board hereby exercises its option and consummates said purchase in accordance with the terms
and conditions of the "Amendment to Lease with Options to Purchase" recorded on November 3, 1975 at
Book 7674 page 711, Office of the County Recorder,for$35,610 plus interest calculated at the rate of 9 Y20/o
per annum from June 1, 1999.
The County Auditor-Controller is hereby DIRECTED to issue a check in favor of the Contra Costa
County Employees' Retirement Association in the amount of $35,610 plus interest for said property for
payment to Grantor upon conveyance to the County of a Quitclaim Deed therefor.
Said Quitclaim Deed is hereby ACCEPTED and the Real Property Division is ORDERED to have it
recorded, together with a certified copy of this resolution.
The Board hereby FINDS that the proposed acquisition will not have a significant effect on the
environment and that it has been determined to be exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act
under State CEQA Guidelines Article 5, Section 15061(b)(3). This Board DIRECTS the Director of
Community Development to file a Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk and DIRECTS the Public Works
Director to arrange for payment of a $25.00 handling fee to the County Clerk for filing and a $25.00 fee to
Community Development for processing the Notice of Exemption. This activity has been found to conform
to the General Plan of the County of Contra Costa.
