In the Matter of Implementing an Resolution No. 99 327
Extended Salary Range (Deep Class)
for the class of Animal Services Lieutenant
Whereas, the Board of Supervisors has enacted Resolution 83/1, as amended, referred to
as the Salary Regulations, and Section 20 of that Resolution relates to the compensation
and terms and conditions of employment for deep classes, AND
Whereas, the Animal Services Director has requested that the salary range for the class
of Animal Services Lieutenant (BJHB) be extended beyond five (S) steps to allow
necessary flexibility in the recruitment and retention of Lieutenants: NOW
THEREFORE:
THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS in its capacity as
governing Board of the County of Contra Costa and all districts of which it is ex-officio
governing Board RESOLVES THAT:
1. SalarRange:_ Effective June 1, 1999, the class of Animal Services Lieutenant
(BJHB) is reallocated from five-step salary schedule/level M50 1985 ($3305-$4018)
to seven-step salary schedule/level M50 1985 ($3305-$4430).
2. Step Placement of Incumbents: Effective June 1,1999, all incumbents in the class
shall be placed on the new salary range and the same step (1-5) where they are
currently placed. No current employees shall be initially placed under this action at
steps six (6) or seven.
3 Advancement of Incumbents to Steps 6 and 7: Steps 6 and 7 shall be considered as
regular merit steps and upon satisfactory performance and affirmative
recommendation of the appointing authority, incumbents may be advanced to Step 6
and to Step 7 on their annual anniversary date.
4. Other Provisions: Except as may be changed or modified by resolution hereafter, all
provisions of the County Salary Regulations are applicable to this deep class.
