Administrative Duties in the Class )
of Computer Operations Manager )
WHEREAS, the Director of Information Technology has requested and the Director of Human
Resources has recommended that the salary range for Computer Operations Manager (LJHE) be
restructured so that positions in the class which are assigned additional administrative duties may
be appropriately compensated for those added responsibilities; AND
WHEREAS, the County Administrator has approved this request;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
RESOLVES THAT:
1. Effective February 1, 1997, the class of Computer Operations Manager (LJHE) is
reallocated from salary schedule/level C5-1973 ($3266-$3970) to salary schedule/level
C6-1973 ($3266-$4169) and all incumbents are placed at the same salary step on the new
range as they held on the former range.
2. Incumbents in the class of Computer Operations Manager are assigned to day shift, night
shift or graveyard shift. Employees initially appointed to the day shift position may be
placed at step two (or higher) in recognition of additional administrative, supervisorial
and operational duties relative to the County Information Technology Operations Center
which must be attended by that employee during normal working hours.
Upon implementation of this resolution, the employee assigned to day shift may have
his/her salary placement advanced one step on the salary range.
3. No employee in the class of Computer Operations Manager may advance to the sixth step
of the salary range while assigned to either the night or graveyard shift. Employees
reassigned from the night or graveyard shifts to day shift may have their salary step
placement advanced one step on the range for additional duties effective the first day of
the month following reassignment. A day shift employee who is reassigned to either
night or graveyard shift may be reduced one step on the; salary range for removal of the
additional administrative duties.
4. The anniversary date of employees in the class of Computer Operations Manager shall
not be affected or changed by movement on the salary range related to the shift
reassignments described herein.
