Adopted this Order on January 14, 1997 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Rogers, Uilkema, Gerber, Canciamilla and DeSaulnier
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None RESOLUTION NO. 97/13
SUBJECT: In the Matter of Indicating Support for Southwest Coalition to Restore Urban
Waters Application for a State Department of Water Resources, Urban
Stream Restoration Grant; North Richmond Area.
WHEREAS, the California Department of Water Resources, Division of Local Assistance,
Urban Stream Restoration Program has announced the availability of funds for grants; and
WHEREAS, the Southwest Coalition to Restore Urban Waters has indicated its intent of
submitting a grant application for funds to cover the local share of costs to improve fish
passage through the Wildcat Creek sediment basin currently under study by the Corps of
Engineers; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors also desires the passage of fish in Wildcat Creek;
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors is willing to co-sponsor said grant subject to
agreement with the Southwest Coalition to Restore Urban Waters on grant administration
issues.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board supports the efforts of the
Southwest Coalition to Restore Urban Waters to secure a State Department of Water
Resources grant for the local cost share of a Corps of Engineers creek restoration project
that provides for the passage of fish through an existing sedimentation basin on Wildcat
Creek.
BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board indicates its intent to co-sponsor said grant subject to
resolution of grant administration issues with the Southwest Coalition to Restore Urban
Waters and the Public Works Director is authorized to execute the grant when the
administrative issues are resolved.
