HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 10011996 - 96-440 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring ) STEVE ROBERTI for his Service ) RESOLUTION NO. 961440 to the Citizens of Contra Costa ) County as Executive Secretary-Treasurer ) of the Central Labor Council ) WHEREAS, Steve Roberti is a life-long supporter of labor unions and has dedicated his career to representing the interests of union members and to serving his community; and WHEREAS, Steve began his union ties as a member of Electrical Workers, Local 302, of which he was a member for 25 years, until he tried his hand as a political consultant, conducting various campaigns regarding county building, construction, and transportation issues; and WHEREAS,from 1988 to September 1996, Steve Roberti has managed the Central Labor Council with strong leadership, dedication, and integrity; and WHEREAS, recently hired by the U.S. Department of Labor, Steve will be using his expertise to manage Region IX which includes the western United States, Hawaii, and Guam; and WHEREAS, Steve's influence extends far beyond the labor unions as he lends his talents and compassion to many community service efforts, including the United Way, the Labor Project for Working Families, and Shelter, Inc.; and WHEREAS, Steve has also provided leadership to many other business organizations such as the Coalition. of Labor and Business (COLAB), the Contra Costa Council, the Bay Area Economic Forum, the Bay Area Council, and the Association of Bay Area Governments; and WHEREAS, Steve's involvement in both the economic and social well being of Contra. Costa County is extremely appreciated, and we are grateful for his many contributions toward improving the quality of life for the citizens of the county. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors STEVE ROBERTI for his service to the citizens of Contra Costa County as Executive Secretary- Treasurer of the Central Labor Council and wishes him much success and happiness with his new position with the U.S. Department of Labor.
