THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Adopt this Order on October 1, 1996 by the following vote:

Uniformed Sheriffs Management Employees ) Resolution No. 96/430
The Board of Supervisors on July 9, 1996, approved and adopted Resolution 96/299 which
implemented wage and benefit agreements with the Deputy Sheriffs' Association for the
contract period October 1, 1995 through September 30, 1998; AND,
The County Administrator having recommended that unrepresented and exempt uniformed
management classifications in the Office of the Sheriff-Coroner be granted similar wage
and benefit adjustments to retain existing compensation relationships; NOW
THEREFORE:
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in its capacity as governing Board of the
County of Contra Costa, and all districts of which it is the ex-officio governing board,
RESOLVES THAT:
A. Effective on the dates indicated, the salary ranges for unrepresented and exempt
uniformed management classes in the Office of the Sheriff-Coroner which are listed
below shall be increased as follows: July 1, 1996 = both a one-time bonus of $750
to be paid by separate check on October 10, 1996 and 25 levels; October 1, 1997
= 30 levels.

The July 1, 1996 increase and the $750 one-time payment will be paid, without
interest, in a lump sum distribution for the months of July and August 1996 on the
October 10, 1996 paycheck under the Auditor- Controller's standard lump sum pay
procedure and will be subject to normal tax withholding and retirement deduction
requirements.
B. Effective October 1, 1996, all continuing education provisions of the Management
Peace Officer Training Incentive Program as authorized in Section II D of
Resolution 92/107 are eliminated for the above listed classes. In lieu, a 25 level
increase to the basic salary range shall be made effective October 1, 1996.
Subsections II D.1.a. and c. of Resolution 92/107 shall be amended to retain only
the permanent career incentive allowance of 2.5% of monthly base pay for
possession of an approved Baccalaureate Degree in addition to possession of a
Management and/or Executive P.O.S.T Certificate.
Subsection II D.1.e. of Resolution 92/107 shall be amended to retain only the
permanent career incentive allowance of 5% of monthly base pay for possession
of an approved Masters Degree in addition to possession of a Management and/or
Executive P.O.S.T Certificate.
C. Effective September 1, 1996, the monthly uniform allowance shall be increased
from $40/month to $47.08/month ($565 per year). Effective July 1, 1997, the
allowance shall be increased from $47.08/month to $54.17/month ($650 per year).
