In the Matter of Honoring the )
DE LA SALLE SPARTAN FOOTBALL TEAM ) RESOLUTION NO. 96/28
as the 1995 NCS 3A Champions )
WHEREAS, the De La Salle Spartan Football Team has had a banner year, having won its 4th
straight North. Coast. Section.3A title and having broken the state record for consecutive victories
by winning 52 games in a row; and
WHEREAS, on December 4, 1995, the Spartans were up against the Pittsburg High School
Pirates, and due to their excellent teamwork, the Spartans defeated the Pirates 35-14; and
WHEREAS, the 1995 NCS 3A win adds another title to the Spartans impressive history gfhaving
been voted No. I by Cal/High Sports and No. 3 in. the nation by USA Today and for being the
Bay Valley Athletic League Champions for 12 consecutive years; and
WHEREAS, the success that the De La Salle Spartans have enjoyed is a culmination of hard
working players, team spirit, and exceptional coaching by Bob Ladoucer; and
WHEREAS, Coach Ladoucer, in his .17 years as Head Coach, has led the team to 188 wins and
only 14 losses and I tie and was honored with the prestigious award of the NFL's Best High.
School Coach.for 1995; and
WHEREAS, we are extremely pleased to see the kind of excellence in sportsmanship that the
Spartans have exhibited and wish them. continued success.
NOW, 7HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors the DE LA
SALLE SPARTAN FOOTBALL TEAM as the 1995 NCS 3A Champions.
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON January 23, 1996, by a unanimous vote of the Board members
present.
