IN THE MATTER OF HONORING ] RESOLUTION NO. 96/001
MARK FINUCANE FOR HIS LEADERSHIP ]
AND COMMITMENT TO HEALTH CARE ]
SERVICES FOR ALL OF CONTRA COSTA ]
COUNTY'S RESIDENTS ]
WHEREAS, MARK FINUCANE provided excellent leadership in the field of public
health administration in the County, creating one of the finest senior management
teams in the country and enhanced relationships with State and Federal leaders;
and,
WHEREAS, MARK FINUCANE is a very progressive hands-on manager who was personally
concerned with each Health Services division in Contra Costa County; and,
WHEREAS, MARK FINUCANE was the driving force in the creation of geriatric
programs, the Office of Service Integration program and the Merrithew Memorial
Replacement Hospital project; and,
WHEREAS, MARK FINUCANE is recognized nationally as a health care leader who
worked directly with the White House on the Clinton Health Plan and served as
Chairman of the National Association of Public Hospitals in 1995; and,
WHEREAS, MARK FINUCANE has fortunately enjoyed the understanding of his wife,
Laurie, and their two daughters, Clare and Lucy during the long hours needed to
successfully do his job:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa
County does honor and recognize
MARK FINUCANE
for eleven years of outstanding and dedicated service to Contra Costa County.
PASSED by vote of the Board members present on this 9th d of January,1996.
