HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 10241995 - 95-504 Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, State of California In the Matter of Proclaiming l RESOLUTION NO. 95/504 October 30-November 4, 1995 as ] Child Welfare League of America in l Contra Costa County ] WHEREAS, the Child Welfare League of America's Western Region Training Conference will be held November 1-3 in the City of Concord, Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS, the Conference will bring together advocates and professionals in the field of child welfare, education, health and mental health,juvenile justice, and corporate partners; and WHEREAS, 1995 marks the 75th Anniversary of the Child Welfare League of American; and WHEREAS, the Contra Costa County Departments of Community Services and Social Services and the Ryther Children's Center of Seattle are the co-hosts of this conference; and WHEREAS, the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) is a national nonprofit organization that unites almost 800 public and private agencies, which together serve more than two million children and their families every year; and WHEREAS, the Child Welfare League of America and its agencies are experts in the many areas of child welfare, including adoption, child day care, child protection, family foster care, chemical dependency prevention and treatment, housing and homelessness; and WHEREAS, the Child Welfare League of America's Western Region Training Conference will celebrate the region's commitment to children and families; share strategies for serving diverse populations of children and families in the West; and identify goals and an action agenda for tying together all endeavors as they move forward together in a high-tech world; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County, does hereby SUPPORT and PROCLAIM the week of October 30, 1995 through November 4, 1995 as Child Welfare League of American week in Contra Costa County. PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote of the Board of members present on this 24th day of October, 1995.
