SIPOS FOR HIS TIS EFFORTS AND UNWAVERING COMMUNITY ) CONTRIBUTION ) RESOLUTION NO.95 486 WHEREAS, with a degree in chemical engineering from the University of California and an M.B.A. from Harvard, Michael Sipos was.on the road to a distinguished career, and, 1ASh a fallen tree at a blind curve caused a car accident that left Michael with the loss of an eye, in a coma for four months, in a wheelchair for two years, and brain damaged; and, WHEREAS. Michael's life, personality and his thinking ability have been drastically altered; and, WHEREAS, Michael has pushed on beyond this immense adversity and now.devotes his life to volunteering for other head injury patients at hospitals all over the Bay Area; and, WHEREAS. Michael regularly speaks out on vital issue to the San Ramon City Council, and in the local Save Our Hills movement to preserve.open space; and, WHEREAS, Michael Sipos tirelessly devotes his life, now and for the past fourteen years, to encouraging patients who have had similar injuries, and is an inspiration to those around him. NOW. THEREFORE BE IT FSOL.VED, that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County does hereby aclmovAedge Michael W. Sipos for his true heroism. as one having come through tremendous adversity to become an advocate and helpmate for so many. PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote of those Supervisors present on October 17, 1995.
