HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS - 01251994 - 94-63 S -4 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Declaring February 1994 ) as AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH in ) RESOLUTION NO. 9416 3 Contra Costa County ) WHEREAS, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)sponsors February as American History Month each year to stimulate a knowledge in both young and old and a sense of pride in our Nation's great achievements and dedication to liberty; and WHEREAS, the backbone of this great nation of America is its history upon which all of our accomplishments are based, and WHEREAS, the DAR wants to stress pride in the United States of America through community services in educational programs, essay contests, and historic tours; and WHEREAS, through the study of American History, we are made aware of the importance of freedom, equality,justice, and humanity; and WHEREAS, we want to extend our commendation to the DAR for making American citizens aware of our heritage and the benefits of being an American. It is the time for our nation to bond together and to celebrate the liberty we are all fortunate enough to enjoy everyday. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors proclaims February 1994 as AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH in Contra Costa County. PASSED AND ADOPTED ON January 25, 1994, by a unanimous vote of the Board members present.
